Ellrose Hanlon
“Wait can you do that again my camera wasn’t on”
Background
Ellrose is a Syracuse-born photographer and videographer whose passion began during the pandemic, after finding an old Nikon camera in her mom’s closet. With her siblings and two Bernese Mountain dogs as her first models, she started documenting everyday moments. When school resumed, her camera rarely left her side, capturing events, sports, and anything that sparked her eye.
A friend invited her to shoot a high school basketball game, which led to her first sports edit. She launched her first media page, “livefrom315,” and soon began creating video content for local teams and businesses. As her style evolved, she rebranded to “editsbyellrose,” building a portfolio rooted in storytelling and motion.
Now a Film & Media Studies major at Colgate University, Ellrose films for Colgate Athletics and collaborates with American High, a local film production company. Through her professional title, Hanlon Creatives, she continues to grow, capturing everything from weddings to wildlife in Tanzania- with the goal of building a lasting career in media.
